This year we took part in the
Big Garden Birdwatch 2006 organised by the RSPB during the
weekend of 28/29 January 2006.
This event is the world's largest bird survey. It involves
thousands of people spending one hour watching the birds in
their own gardens or local parks during one particular
weekend. It is necessary to make a note of the birds seen
during this period and and inform the RSPB about the highest
number of each species seen at any one time during the hour
(to avoid counting the same birds twice.)

Our Results
This year we took part on Sunday 29th January, 9.25 to
10.25 am. It was a beautifully sunny, but cold day. We saw 13
different species during that hour. Here are our results:
About an hour after the Birdwatch was finished, the nuthatch
and some long-tailed tits appeared - too late to be included
in the survey.
