Size: 35 inches (90 cm)
Habitat: Lakes, marshes and waterways
Feeding: Fish, small rodents and frogs
Eggs: 3 - 5 light blue eggs, laid February to May, incubation 25 days
Grey Heron    


The grey heron is a huge grey bird with long legs and neck, and a long yellow beak. It flies with its legs outstretched but its neck folded back. Both sexes look alike.

The heron can often be seen standing in our pond waiting for an unsuspecting fish to swim by!
