Habitat: Mainly farmland and woodland
Feeding: Mainly seeds and grain
Eggs: 2 white eggs laid March - September,

The stock dove, although smaller than the wood pigeon, looks similar. The plumage is grey with pinkish breast, metallic greenish collar and two black markings on its wings. It does not have the white collar of the wood pigeon.

Its numbers declined sharply in the 1960s but have since recovered.
