Caryopteris, sometimes called Blue Spirea, is a deciduous shrub with grey/green foliage and clusters of pretty blue flowers in late summer.

It will thrive in most soils and likes full sun, although will tolerate part shade. It is best protected with a wall or fence in cold areas.

It is originally a native of Eastern Asia, such as Mongolia, China and Japan.
