Clematis

Clematis is a very popular flowering climber in English gardens, but we have never found it particularly easy to grow. We are trying again because they are very showy flowers and we don't have a lot of plants flowering in late summer.

This time we have planted one growing up the front of the house and a couple to grow up the pergola by the back door.

Clematis originated in China but its versatility made it ideal to introduce colour into gardens.

Another benefit - the deer do not seem to eat it!
