Common Broomrape |
|
|
Common Broomrape is a parasite which grows on the roots of
other host plants. It can be found wherever the hosts plants
grow.
It has an upright stalk with tiny leaves growing out from
the stem. The purple-veined flowers are tubular with a
squarish lower lip.
This plant has no chlorophyll, hence the purple colour. It
is covered with tiny hairs.
