Hedge Woundwort |
|
|
Hedge Woundwort likes damp shady woodland and hedgerows.
The flowers grow around the stem in groups of about six.
They are a reddish purple with two lips. The lower lip has
three lobes and white markings.
The heart-shaped leaves are toothed and hairy and have an
unpleasant smell when crushed. They are used in herbal
medicine to stop bleeding. |
