The marsh marigold, sometimes known as kingcup, is found in wet places such as marshes and the banks of streams.

The bright yellow flowers, sometimes up to 5 cm diameter, look like large buttercups with six petals. The flowers are followed by brown seed pods.

The leaves are dark green, glossy and heart-shaped.

This plant is poisonous.
