Flowering Shrubs

Lilac Blossom

It has been a huge learning curve to find out which shrubs flourish in our garden. Not only did we have to learn which shrubs suit our soil conditions, but also to find out which shrubs the deer do not eat! It has been an expensive exercise but the majority of the shrubs below (except the roses) are usually left alone by the deer.

Click on the links below to find out more about these beautiful shrubs. We have included photographs not only to show how pretty they can be, but in many cases to show the leaves and whole plant to help you identify them.

Finally, please take a look at our flower gallery which showcases some of the best flower photographs.
